The Trees Are Falling!

Earlier today we saw a limb fall from a tree in our backyard.  We were all in the living room and didn't think much of it.  Later this afternoon, we heard a loud noise and saw this big tree fall!  Of course, we all had to go out and investigate.

Ethan and I took pictures while Adam and Justin  assessed the damages.

The first of many fun adventures in our own backyard.

First Time in the Church Nursery

I made it to church with the boys by myself today.  Justin works on Sunday mornings so it has been difficult to get us all together in time. The sweet ladies in the nursery fell in love with our precious boys... who could blame them. I forgot to get a picture of them in their room, so I took this when we got home. They look like they had a great time.  I will have to get a picture of them in their room next time.

After lunch and a short nap, we headed over to our friend, Scott's, photography studio. We had lots of fun playing and wrangling babies. Here is one of the precious pictures Scott was able to capture.  We are so blessed to have such a great and talented friend to capture these sweet faces.

After our photo shoot, Scott, Emily and their sweet baby girl, Katie Grace went with us to a cook out at our other friends' Macon and Casey's house. The total head count was 6 adults, 1 four year old, and 4 babies under six months. Total chaos but lots of fun.

Date Night

Justin and I got to go on our first date since the boys were born! Our sweet friends Renee and Tommy volunteered to keep the babies for us. I was a little nervous about leaving them for the first time, but they did really well. Justin and I had a great time and look forward to many more date nights.

A Weekend in Greenville

The boys and I made another solo trip to Greenville this past weekend.  I have to say the trip went much smoother than the last one. Thank goodness!
When we arrived in town, we made a stop to visit Mammaw Adams.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that my Aunt Mel, cousin Jamie, and her daughter, Loree Beth were also there for a visit.

Ethan took a nap with Mammaw while Adam and Loree Beth played. It was so nice to have a chance to catch up with sweet family.

We spent a lot of time playing at Nonna and Papa's house.  Nonna fed Ethan his sweet potatoes.

Papa and Adam took a short nap together.

After all the sweet potatoes it was time to take baths. When my siblings and I were little we used to love to take baths in Mammaw Adams' sink.  I think it is so fun to see this tradition being passed on to my kids by their Nonna.

Of course, after everyone was all clean, we had to make time for a photo shoot.

Ethan and Papa spent some time on the front porch.  I took this picture through the window because I didn't want to interrupt their Man to Man conversation.  It looked pretty intense :)

The main reason I decided to make the trip was to visit this precious woman.  This is my Mammaw Peacock.  She is such a special lady and has been such an important presence in my life.  I fully believe that I owe so many of my blessings in life to her constant prayers over me.  I am so grateful that I grew up in the same town as my grandparents. I am sad that my babies do not have this luxury, but I'm also grateful for the technology that allows us to stay in touch.

Thankfully, Mammaw was able to get Ethan to take a nap.

Adam and Pappaw Peacock had a nice visit...

and then a good nap :)

Mammaw is having heart bypass surgery tomorrow morning. Please pray that the Lord will give her His peace and guide the doctor's hands.  I hate that my sweet Mammaw is having to go through this trial, but I am comforted that He is with her and He is in control.

We had a great visit...

but we were all very happy to be home!

Our New Chairs

Just a quick post to show off our new chairs.  I decided that these clamp-on chairs were much more practical for us than regular high chairs.  Now I can reach them while I'm in the kitchen without having to walk around the bar.  They take up way less space, and fold up easily to take with us to restaurants or grandparents' houses.  The boys aren't eating at the table just yet, but they like to sit in their chairs and watch while I unload the dishwasher.

Our New Favorite Toy

A couple of weeks ago, I remembered that we put this walker in the attic until the boys were big enough to use it.

They absolutely love this thing!  Ethan runs all over the house.  He can even maneuver around corners and get himself unstuck... most of the time.

He loves it so much that one day he decided to take a nap in it! In my defense, I had tried several times to get him to take a nap, but he fights sleep just like his daddy.  Poor baby was so exhausted, and yes that is his thumb in his mouth.  I can't help it!  He will not take a pacifier.  For now, I'm choosing not to fight that battle.

OK. Back to the walker.  It came with this really fun activity tray that they both loved.  However, Adam has spit up on it so much that the buttons stick and play the same note over and over and over...  For my own sanity I removed the tray.

I don't think they miss it.  They are too busy enjoying their freedom.

Thanks for stopping by!

P.S. We went outside to enjoy the sunshine today. I was too hot to stay very long, but it was fun while it lasted.

Adam was too cool in his shades and new shoes.

Ethan was running so fast I could hardly get a picture!

5 Months Old

I'm about a week late, but here are their 5 month pictures.  I found these iron-on ties on the target dollar isle and couldn't pass them up.  My plan was to have Justin dress up with his matching tie and hold the boys, but I was lucky to get these two dressed.  Apparently it's too hot to put on a real tie!  :)

Ethan is ready for the first game!
Go Rebels!

I guess he's telling Adam to get with the program.
Poor Adam just woke up.

What photo shoot would be complete without a tongue picture?!

Hotty Toddy!!

Play date at the Lucius'

The boys and I had been stuck in the house for a couple of days due to the extreme heat and we were all going a little crazy.  Thankfully we have some great friends right down the street.  I loaded up the boys and headed over for a play date.

Sweet Emma-Kate is so much help with all of the babies.

Here is one of our girlfriends, Rosemary.  She is only three weeks older than my boys. Her mom and I were so excited to be pregnant together. So far we haven't really had a chance to enjoy having children together. I think we are about to turn a corner and hopefully be able to do more together.

For now, we are happy just visiting them at their house.  There is always lots of excitement and coffee to make it through the day.

First Time to Eat With a Spoon

Now that the boys are five months old we decided to try feeding them cereal.  We have been adding it to their bedtime bottles for a few weeks now and have had great results.  I plan on adding fruits and veggies a little at a time in hopes that they learn to love healthy foods.

It was no surprise to me when Adam loved his cereal. He has been drinking twice as much as Ethan for his bedtime bottle.  This boy loves to eat.  Although, you wouldn't know it to look at him.  He weighs almost a pound less than Ethan!  I'm hoping that the solid food will stay down better so he will stop spitting up so much.

Ethan, on the other hand, is going to need more practice.

He did swallow some, but he was not happy about it. It really has no taste.  I don't know why he looks so horrified.  Maybe he will like sweet potatoes.

Thankfully, he didn't stay mad at me.

He even showed me his tongue that he is so proud of!
